Fussy Friday #31

For me Fussy Cut Friday's has come to a close but don't worry
I will still be posting stars each Friday until the end of the year.

Here are a few details about the finishing process.
1. You can find lots of ideas about finishing on my EPP Pinterest Board
2. I used 4" Hexagons, 2" diamonds and a few 2" hexagons
to join the stars together. I will not be able to ship these
large templates but you can order them here
3. I used 72 stars to finish my quilt and it measures 54" x 64"
4. 4 yards of background fabric will be more than enough.
5. If you are going to put yours together like mine start by
making 10 circles of 6 stars. You will also need 4 half circles of
3 stars. It is kind of like a puzzle and once you start laying
it out it will all make sense. Everything is joined together by
hand and was fun but really time consuming.

It is not to late to join in the fun. You can see all the stars and learn how
to make them here and you can order a starter kit here.

  3. I've enjoyed seeing the Fussy Cut Friday blocks and your quilt is very striking. I love how the stars made with stripes look like sparklers.

The link for learning how to make the blocks doesn't take me to a "lesson" or "tutorial". With your quilt complete, I'd now like to try.

    Thank you.

  7. Will my quilt ever come to fruition like yours? I love that all colors of stars make a gorgeous quilt. I am totally new to EPP and have been plugging away with my stars - it's really additive! But could you share just a bit more on how you sewed the parts of your quilt together? Do you add the bkgrd diamond between two stars and then add them to the center hexie? I'm sure this seems elementary to you but it's all new to me. Thanks.

  8. That's gorgeous. It's been fun to watch the blocks unfold each week, and now to see it done and quilted is wonderful.

  9. You're quilt is so beautiful! I've kept up with my stars. I intend on using them to border a HST quilt I'm making myself in my MotherInLaw's memory.

  13. Thanks for your inspiration to do fussy stars. I've had such fun. Your quilt is gorgeous. When people see my stars, they ask how big my quilt will be. I tell them "when I get tired of making stars, I'll put them together. It will be whatever size it is." But I'm not tired of making them yet!
