TQC Journal | Special Edition

A New Season
+  +  +  +  +  +  +
For everything there is a season, and a time
for every purpose under heaven. Ecc 3:1

This Schoolhouse Pillow has been on display in the shop
for almost 15 years, since day one. It is time for it to come
home along with Temecula Quilt Co. I have made the
decision to close the brick and mortar side of the shop.

I will be open until November 20, 2021
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00 - 4:00
Saturday 10:00 - 2:00

I will continue to design fabric for Marcus Fabrics and
and will be keeping my online shop open for business. I
will also continue to write TQC Journal posts and hopefully
keep you inspired with new projects and fun sew alongs
both here, on Instagram and Facebook.

I am looking forward to being able to spend more time with
these little cuties. They grow up so fast I don't want to miss it!

I am so thankful to all of you that have had a chance to visit
the shop. It has been a wonderful 15 years sharing our quilting
life together. Please stay tuned for fun new projects and products.

  1. Sounds like a good decision for you and your family. I'm sorry I never was able to visit your shop, but heard it was delightful. Glad you will continue to have an online shop. Enjoy those adorable littles!

  2. Family time is so precious. I've had the opportunity to visit your beautiful and quaint shop several times over the years. Will enjoy your continued inspiration online. Best wishes!

  3. Best wishes to you and your family on your changes…I am sure it is bittersweet. But thank God for all things online! Look forward to seeing where your creativity takes you and thank you for sharing with us out here! Linda B

  4. Great decision for you and your family because ... family first! I'm happy to hear you'll still be designing fabric and continuing the SALs. Enjoy your grandchildren. They grow up even faster than your own children!

  5. You have such a beautiful family -- I can totally understand that you need to spend your time with them. I love your fabrics and patterns. My all-time favorite quilt is the one that was in AP&Q many years ago, with those same little school houses in it, surrounding a snowball center, with great borders. I have it hanging in our great room and love it every time I look at it. I'll continue to look for new patterns and fabric lines. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.

  6. When I visited California in 2019 for the first time in my life, I had two must see places...Disneyland and Temecula Quilt Company. Although I'm sorry to hear that you're closing the store (it was the most beautiful quilt store I've ever been in...you know your audience and cater to them!) I'm delighted that you'll still keep the blog and online store. I have two granddaughters and understand the need to spend more time with them, no matter how often I see them, it's never enough! Enjoy your time with your family, it does go too fast!

  7. Great idea Sheryl, no, you don't want to miss the Grandkids growing up. They are all very cute! I am glad you will still be designing and having your online shop!

  8. I totally and support you to cut back to spend more time with your Littles. We were in San Diego in January 2020 - for a conference for the son in law. The kids brought us along to vacation in a house on the beach. I knew we were close to Temecula Quilts but Disneyland and the SD Zoo, La Jolla and the beach were our destinations. I would’ve loved to go and if it had just been my husband and me, we would’ve. He took me to Quilt in a Day the last time we were in Oxnard instead of a baseball game!

Your family is adorable and I will continue to follow you as I can!

  9. I am so sorry to see you close your lovely quilt shop. I have always enjoyed the time I have spent there on Monday mornings and shopping. I totally understand your need to spend time with your family. Time slips by so fast and those precious moments slip away much to fast. I wish you and your family the best. You will be missed.

  10. Family is everything. Good move for you. I will miss going to your shop, but I do not live in California, so maybe that was not in the cards. Thank you for your constant inspiration and tips, not to mention postcard blocks!

  11. Sheryl, I'm sure you did not come upon this decision quickly or lightly, but spending time with your grand children and family always comes first! I too am cutting back on my teaching schedule at RoJenDesigns so I can help with our 3 littles as well. Blessings as you continue on online. You have so much to add to the quilting community so, THANK YOU for having such a wonderful store and I always enjoyed stopping in when I was visiting our son at SDSU.

  12. Oh Sheryl, I can't believe you won't be there the next time I'm in town. I do love your shop and all those wonderful scrappy quilts. Glad to hear you'll continue designing quilts and fabrics (Do please convince Marcus that one or two conversational prints in each line will fly off the shelves! I live in hope. Perhaps a banjo shirting?)
    Enjoy the grands.

  13. I almost had heart failure when I saw the word 'closing.' Thank you that you will continue blogging and have the online shop open. I cannot tell you how many times I have used your patterns or have been inspired by your designs. You have been and will always be one of the best designers. Blessings to you on your new ventures, and enjoy that family!!!

  14. Loved your shop! So glad you will continue to inspire us! Best wishes! Tanya T. In Houston

  15. You have a darling family and spending more time with them is certainly a higher priority than running a shop. I'm sorry to never have had the chance to visit your shop (it was on my list of places to visit if ever in the vicinity). I'll look forward to enjoying your blog instead and shopping your online fabric store. Best of things to you and your famiy!
