1880 Sampler Sew Along

The first week of 2018 is in the books. Wow that was fast!
I have a lot of great things planned for this year, so lets get started.
Inspired by this Quirky 1880 Sampler our 1880 Sampler
Sew Along will create another great scrappy sampler.
Here are all the details:

4" block instructions will be posted each Friday
beginning in February.

Finished 1880 Sampler will be approximately 40" x 48"

The scrappy nature of this project is perfect for your stash.
The fabrics we used for this project were influenced by
this quilt 1880 Pennsylvania origination.

If you will be using your scraps and would like to be on
the lookout for your setting, border and binding fabric
you will need 2 yards total. I will be using the
medium grey floral pictured above.

I have made some kits (pictured above) and would love
to send you one so you will be ready to get started.
Kit includes a variety of prints, setting, border and binding fabric.
** Please note** your kit will come with more than enough
fabric for all the blocks but I did add a few special scraps
from my stash to give the quilt a scrappier look.
If you would like a 1880 Sampler kit you can order one here.
Supplies are limited so order today!

Scrappy Snowball Sew Along

I missed scheduling a Snowball post last week.
The good news is, if you were busy getting ready
for Christmas and did not have time to sew you are not
behind and if you still made yours you are ahead.

Scrappy Snowball Sew Along

Scrappy Snowball Sew Along || Week #2

We hope you have decided to join us. Please don't let
the large number of squares needed deter you.
784 | 1-1/2" squares and 196 | 4-1/2" squares.
Wow that is a lot when you put it that way. That
is why we will take it in small weekly chunks. If
you missed the details you can find them here.

**Ironing Tip**
When you are ironing your corners open always
press toward the dark. This will allow you to nest
your seams together perfectly when it comes
time to put your snowballs together.

It Is The Little Things

This little roll of scotch tape has changed my English Paper
Piecing life! I like EPP, but was always disappointed when
my stitches showed. I tried a few things to diminish their
appearance, matching thread and smaller stitches did help
but the flat stitch technique sealed the deal. We had Shannon
a guest Hexologist visit my Tuesday night class to teach us
where we have been going wrong. She uses the flat stitch
technique and the stitches are completely invisible. There
are a few tutorials on YouTube if you are a visual learner.
You can find them here and here.
