from green print cut the following:
1 | 1" square
2 | 1" x 3" strip
from pink print cut the following:
2 | 1" squares
2 | 1-1/4" x 3" strips
from red print cut the following:
2 | 1" x 2" strips
2 | 1-1/4" x 4-1/2" strips
from blue print cut 2 | 1" x 2" strips

Start by sewing a pink square to each side of green square.

Continue to piece block using photo for placement.

Summer Circles

English Paper Piecing projects are like  jigsaw puzzles.

Summer Circles is the perfect puzzle for the lazy days of 

summer. For Summer Circles we will be using 2" 

squares and 2" elongated hexagons. Gather together

1 yard of background fabric and a variety of scraps.

from light print cut 8 | 2" squares
From 8 different prints cut 1 | 2" square

Pair up one light square and one dark square
make 2 half square triangles | repeat with each color

Square each half square triangle to 1-1/2" 

(Here is a tutorial for our favorite technique)

Layout and piece block using photo for placement.

If you would like to get started on your cutting you will need a large
variety of light, medium and dark print strips cut in the following widths:

1"  |  1-1/4"  |  1-1/2"  |  1-3/4"

A few things to keep in mind
1. Length of strips needs to be a least 5" but I suggest
longer strips to make piecing a little easier.
2.Quantity of strips will vary depending on lengths.
3. You can always cut more if necessary.
