The Good News is I have decided how I am going to set
my Fussy Cut Friday Stars. The Bad News is I am going to
need 90 stars. I better pick up the pace.
I am going to use the Seven Sisters Setting pictured above.
This is a quilt that was available on eBay. Some lucky bidder
got a beauty. I will need a total of 13 complete circles
of 6 stars and 4 half circles of 3 stars for a total of 90 stars.
This will make a quilt that finishes approximately 55" x 80"
without borders. I am waiting for the 4" hexagon
Paper Pieces to arrive so I can add the centers.
Wow - you have such a wealth of inspiration on your blog for someone who loves traditional quilts - as I do. Good luck with this one - it'll turn out as beautiful as that Ebay one I'm sure! xCathy ps giveaway at mine!?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous choice of setting.......I'm sure you can do 90 stars easily!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking forward to seeing what setting you'd choose :) This will be just lovely! thanks for the inspiration.

Your stars looks great.

I like this idea. Do you have any thoughts on how much background fabric would be needed for this setting? Thanks for your input.

Love it! I'd better pick up my pace, too. Thanks so much for leading this for us. I try to sew along on your projects.
ReplyDeleteWow wonderful stars. They are fantastic. Cant wait to see them come together.
ReplyDeleteI would never had thought to set my stars in his way. Love it and am going to use this setting for my stars also. Dreaming of the type wreaths to quilt in the 4 inch hexies. I don't see an answer for Mary's question: about how much background do you estimate. I always like a double check to my math.

ReplyDeletethis is very attractive. I popped over to see whether you had decided on your setting. I am still dithering, but I am going to lay all my stars out tomorrow to experiment.
