Taryn's Baskets

Taryn a long time customer and fellow small quilt lover
brought this darling antique basket quilt to the shop a few
months ago. She knows just what I like. I just could not resist
taking it home for a little photo shoot. It is so fun to recreate
antique quilts, trying to find the perfect scraps to give your new quilt
that same vintage feel. Follow along as I recreate each special block.

A few quilt details.

Finished Quilt | 35" x 28"
Finished Block | 5"

I used Aged Muslin | Light
This fabric has a beautiful creamy vintage look.
I do not normally pre-wash my fabric but if you plan
on hand quilting your finished project I suggest
pre-washing your aged muslin. If you would like to
order some you can find it here. You will need 1-1/2 yards

If you would like to quilt along with us you can download
the PDF version of the pattern below.

Printed copies of this pattern will be available on our website soon.

  2. Love it!!! Antique quilts are so special. You might be familiar with Retro Clean, a product that is very safe if she wants to try to remove the stains or freshen the antique quilt. Just a suggestion--Taryn might just want to keep the look the way it is.

    As usual, a winner.

I already know which of my fabrics I will use for the first block.

Thank you for sharing your talents so generously.
