One Block Wednesday

This scrappy quilt has been on my bucket list for
many years. Pinned on my Pinterest Board,
Quilting || Antique I think this is the year to get
it done. Do you want to make it along with me?
This Quilt Along will be similar in format to
our Wild Goose Wednesday sew along.
Sometimes when you do just a little at a time
it is not as overwhelming, so lets get started.

Here are a few details.
The original was English Paper Pieced,
I will be machine piecing mine.

Finished Quilt - 60" x 74"

Number of blocks - 357 |  3-1/2" finished blocks

Check back here next Wednesday for more
One Block Wednesday organizing and cutting details.

  13. I like it but prefer a 6" finished block. I did notice when the corners are put on the ends go a bit beyond the seam below. Is that right?

  16. I love little quilts. Often I will downsize a bed quilt, and make a mini instead.. They are more likely to get finished.. I have no where to store more bed size quilts. When my granddaughter was a toddler., my husband and I made a doll size 4 poster bed. I made 7 different quilts with the days of the week on the label. What fun. I can send pictures, if anyone is interested.

  19. I've decide to join and I'm really late, but since I'm retired, I can devote a lot of time to this. I bought the little cutting diagram and have made my first set of 4 blocks. I was not expecting the block to come out quite a bit larger than the 3 1/2" finished size. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? I think this is going to be a really great lap quilt and a good way to use up a lot of my reproduction fat quarters. Hope to hear back about my sizes soon. Thanks and look forward to sewing along with you all.

    1. Your block should measure 4" x 4", this includes seam allowances. It will be 3 1/2" once it is all sewed together in the quilt. I hope this helps.
