Taryn a long time customer and fellow small quilt lover
brought this darling antique basket quilt to the shop a few
months ago. She knows just what I like. I just could not resist
taking it home for a little photo shoot. It is so fun to recreate
antique quilts, trying to find the perfect scraps to give your new quilt
that same vintage feel. Follow along as I recreate each special block.

A few quilt details.
Finished Quilt | 35" x 28"
Finished Block | 5"
I used Aged Muslin | Light
This fabric has a beautiful creamy vintage look.
I do not normally pre-wash my fabric but if you plan
on hand quilting your finished project I suggest
pre-washing your aged muslin. If you would like to
order some you can find it here. You will need 1-1/2 yards
If you would like to quilt along with us you can download
It's just lovely! I'm in :) Thank you both for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Antique quilts are so special. You might be familiar with Retro Clean, a product that is very safe if she wants to try to remove the stains or freshen the antique quilt. Just a suggestion--Taryn might just want to keep the look the way it is.
