  1. I think this week's "challenge" will consist of strip piecing for me! Lol!

  3. My sample row comes out to 4 1/4. This seems to be mathematically correct. So I guess my seam needs to be a little wider than 1/4 inch?

    1. Correct, A wide 1/4" will probably be perfect.

    2. I think I just moved my needle over one position.

    3. My machine doesn't have that capability.

  4. I concur with Debbie. Though I haven't sewn them yet, calculations show that the blocks would be 4 1/4" unfinished. May hold off on these until I see how they fit into the design, and then decide how to construct them.

  7. I may make 25 patch squares and add a solid border so I can get the right size.

    1. You can probably just move your needle over one position and it should come out fine.

  9. After a little trial and error (and a bit of a break to watch tv for a bit and take more pain pills from the root canal I had this morning) ... I got it figured out. I cut my squares to 1-1/8" square, and I set my needle position over to the LEFT one notch, instead of to the right as I normally would for a scant quarter-inch seam. Voila! It worked!

  10. My blocks turned out great with just a generous 1/4 inch seam. Love these sew alongs. Can't wait until next Monday.

  11. The Itty Bitty Eights ruler by Creative Grids is coming in handy with these blocks.

  14. Here it is Aug and I just finished Block 5 I cut mine squares
1 1/8 and moved my needle to the left 2 times and my block came out perfect 4 inches. I pined the first two rows and they slipped so ripped it out and just nest the seams as I sew and perfect.4 more to make. I can do it.
