Secret Santa Sew Along

Cutting
from a variety of light prints, cut:
6 strips, 1-1/4" x 11"
12 strips, 2" x 11"
from a variety of red prints, cut:
6 strips, 1-1/4" x 11"
12 strips, 2" x 11"

Using 6 light strips, 1-1/4" x 11" and 12 red strips, 2" x 11"
make 6 red|light|red strip sets. Sub-cut into 48 | 1-1/4" units.

Using 12 light strips, 2" x 11" and 6 red strips, 1-1/4" x 11
make 6 light|red|light strip sets.Sub-cut into 48 | 1-1/4" units
+  +   +  + 
Sew a red|light|red segment and a light|red|light together.
Repeat to make 48 units.
Finished size 1-1/2 x 3-3/4”
2” x 4-1/4" including seam allowances

  1. I really like your new fabric! I'm printing out the patterns and holding for your fabric release. Thanks for the pictures of your store. I've been there in my travels and it is one of the best shops I have been too. Wish I lived closer!

  2. I've been following along. I love the units so far.

    But today's measurements do not make sense. When I sew the 2 light/red/light and red/light/red units together (each are 1 1/4 x 4 1/4) they measure 2" x 4 1/4" including seam allowances. Is this correct? I must stop now before proceeding. Thanks for your help.

  3. The blog post says 2" X 4 1/4" while the email says 2 3/4 x 4 1/4. The blog post fits the dimensions of the pieces. I have made these free patterns before and have to check between the blog and the email as the email is not corrected if there is an incorrect dimension. Great patterns, just word to the wise.

  6. I usually copy the info and then paste into a word doc if I am printing from a blog. Hope that helps.
