Step One

Using your 1-1/4" x 4-1/2" print and solid strips sew two
light strips to each side of print strip. Press toward dark.
Cut into three 1-1/4" segments.
You should have a total of 100 segments.

I have all my scraps cut but not my solids. So I think I'll just sew my scraps onto the solid strip, since it's being subcut anyway, save a step.
