A little about Ann
Originally from Illinois, She moved to southeastern
Pennsylvania and became addicted to collecting
antique quilts and textiles. Her current collecting
interests are antique pillowcases, doll quilts, doll aprons
quilt blocks and fabrics. She has been making quilts for many
years, specializing in small quilts made from antique
and vintage fabrics. She resides in Ambler, Pennsylvania with
her husband and twin boys. When she is not in the
"quilt laboratory" at home designing new quilts, she
is in her chemistry lab at work designing new molecules

A little about Ann's presentation
Pennsylvania German Patchwork Pillowcases and Other Small Treasures
The German immigrants to Southeastern Pennsylvania
developed a rich, and very colorful, quilting heritage after
they arrived in America. Ann's presentation will focus
on a special item that seems to be rarely found outside
the counties of Southeastern, PA--pieced and appliqué pillowcases.
My collection dates from 1829-1900. I will also share a
few PA German patchwork “privy” bags, as well as small
quilts I have made that were inspired by antique patchwork.
