Fabric - Judie Rothermel - Peace and Unity

I have had a lot of comments and emails about
the fabric used in each star. A lot of the fabric is coming
from my stash so I am not really sure about lines.
Most of the fabric has been around for a while and I am sure
would not be available. I will try to add fabric info if I
have it but please try to understand if I do not.

Also several people have asked to include a photo of the
fabric before it is cut up. Again I need to ask for understanding,
I do a lot of my cutting at night when lighting for photos
is not available. Once I finish a star there is usually
little left of the fabric. I have also been working ahead
and have 45 stars cut, sewn, photographed and
scheduled to post for you to enjoy. Be Creative.

I have wanted to say..."oh, I want that fabric for my stars" but realize that you are using what you have. I have quite a stash and want to be "creative" in doing this project! Just having the ideas for the fussy cutting is a wonderful freebie you have given to your fellow quilters!
ReplyDeleteI've loved all of the fabrics you've selected so far and I'm wondering with the size of my "stash" why I don't have some of the same fabrics!! Guess I missed some shopping opportunities somewhere in the past few years!! I am really enjoying this and so glad you shared it with us. It's great digging through my "stash" to see what I want to use. Thank you for sharing a small print. I'd been avoiding those and now realize I didn't need too. Looking forward to next Friday!! I've finished 6 blocks and pulled fabric for another 6, so it's time to go back and find some more!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was following along with this project, but suddenly realized apparently I don't know how to count, as I'm making eight-pointed stars instead of six! LOL! At any rate, I'm definitely having fun "being creative" with my stash. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHello Sheryl, I realized as we went along, that I would not be able to duplicate the stars on your posts.I have a good stash of reproduction fabrics. Last night I had a wonderful time with working out how best to use the fabrics I have.Thankyou for the time and effort you have put into Fussy Fridays for our enjoyment. Regards, Lyn
