I hope everyone is having a relaxing Memorial Day.
Please take a minute and thank someone that
has served our country or the family of a soldier
who payed the ultimate sacrifice. We are so fortunate
to have people who are willing to serve.
Here is a quick pattern for a Patriotic Checkerboard.
Finished Size 10-1/2" x 10-1/2"

Start with about 1/4 yard of red, white and blue fabric.
Cut red fabric into thirty two 1-1/2" squares.
Cut red fabric into thirty two 1-1/2" squares.
Repeat with white fabric.
Piece checkerboard together using photo above.
From blue fabric cut four 1-1/2" x width of fabric strips.
(2 strips for border and 2 strips for binding)
Add border to checkerboard center.
Quilt as desired and bind with single thickness binding.
Make checkers using 1" round wooden disks.
I got mine at Hobby Lobby and painted
them with red and blue acrylic paint.
Very beautiful quilt. I love fabrics and colors.
