I am not sure what happened last week, but I missed Friday's
Timeless Tidbits post. If you have been keeping up you should
have just about enough hourglass blocks to put this beauty together. 
I just love the way this quilt tuned out! It just seems happy to me. 

Just a note on the border fabrics, I used a red and a gold from my 
first line of fabric, Temecula Treasures. I no longer have any in 
the shop (sorry) but I have spotted some of it at a few online shops. 
Here are the numbers in case you want to search for some.

Mini Mondays

 
I love to hand quilt my mini quilts. Check out this tutorial 
for all the details. YLI has been my go to thread from the 
beginning. We are all stocked up and would love for you
to give it a try. You can order a spool or two here. 
I also use YLI to hand stitch my bindings down. 
Another quick tip; use a utility blade to cut a small notch
in the rim of the spool so you can tuck your thread end
in and avoid a big tangled mess of precious thread.

Hourglass
Cutting is for one Hourglass block, repeat to make 16 blocks

This months block has a super scrappy look because I

used leftover blocks from our Timeless Tidbits project. 
I just trimmed them a bit and was good to go!

from 2 different prints, cut:
1 square, 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"

Cut each square diagonally to yield 4 triangles.

Layout block as pictured above.
Sew triangles together in each row.
Join rows together alternating seams at intersection.

Blocks should measure 2-1/2" square,
including seam allowances.

Layout two blocks in two rows. 
Join rows together, alternating seams at intersections.
Blocks should measure 4-1/2" square,

including seam allowances.
