TQC Journal | Special Edition

This Fifth Monday Special Edition includes another
prompt to add a few more blocks to your
Calico and Cotton Sew Along.
We are almost finished!
If you are just joining us you can find all the details here
and purchase the pattern using the Buy Now button below.
I really like the effect of a One Patch quilt. I have been looking
for a project to make a "Swatch-book Quilt" using all the prints
from each of my fabric collections. I found this cute, simple
block and thought it would be perfect. I am not sure how big
the quilt will be yet. At the moment I have178 different dark
prints. This would make a quilt about 45" x 52"
Here are the blocks details if you would like to join me

For one block cut the following
From dark print, cut:
1 square 3" x 3"
From light print, cut:

1 square 3" x 3"
2 rectangles, 1-1/2" x 2 1/2"

Making the block
Using 3" squares make two half-square-triangles by
drawing a diagonal line on wrong side of light square.
Sew 1/4" on each side of line, cut on line and press.
Trim one unit to 2-1/2" square and one unit to 1-1/2" square
Lay out block using picture and piece together.
Block finishes 3-1/2" square, including seam allowances.

Also check out a few of my other One Patch Sew Alongs
They might be more to your liking. Enjoy!
