I intended to release this pattern using my 

Repro Reds and my new line Vintage Viridians.

The green line got delayed and would not be here

in time for you to make a new Christmas quilt.

 I decided to save it and give you a head start on an
 idea for next year. You can download the free pattern
 below and if you would like to pre-order some greens
 you can do that here. You can also pick up some reds
 in my new fabric by the yard section, here.

This was such a fun quilt to make and I will definitely 
find the time to make another potholder quilt. Once you 
have all the pieces made use a ladder stitch on the backside to
 join all the pieces together. I used this great ladder stitch video 

I hope your halls are decked and you are ready for Christmas.

Mini Monday Sewing Bee 
Get caught up on all the details here.

Snowball
Cutting is for one block, repeat to make four blocks

from first print, cut: 1 square, 4-1/2" x 4-1/2"
from second print, cut: 4 squares, 1-3/4" x 1-3/4"

Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the 
wrong side of 1-3/4" squares. Place the marked square on
one corner of 4-1/2" square, stitch on line, trim 1/4" seam
 allowance and press. Repeat on opposite corners with
remaining square. Block should measure 4-1/2" x 4-1/2",
including seam allowances.

Once you finish your Snowball blocks you will be
ready to assemble this simple quilt. This easy setting
will go together in no time. 

Simply sew together eight rows of six blocks.
Cut borders 4" wide and use your quilts dimensions
for the length of each strip. Add side borders, press
and add top and bottom borders. Quilt as desired and bind.

As you can see I put my half-square-triangles together wrong
and did not notice it until I was stitching the whole thing together.
This is definitely a case of do as I say, not as I do. 

Add a border using 1-1/4" cut strips.

Block should measure 6" including seam allowances.

Do some simple hand quilting

Bind using a single thickness binding.

be fun to make a simple Christmas project for you to sew 
along with me. I am taking inspiration from the same blocks
we have been stitching in the Mini Monday Sewing Bee.

the quilts that have filled the shop for the past 15 years. I 
managed to find a homes for all of them but if I ever decide

Mini Monday Sewing Bee

New Album 
Cutting is for one block, repeat to make four blocks

from first print, cut: 4 rectangles, 1-1/2" x 2-1/2"
              1 square, 2" x 2"
from second print, cut: 4 squares, 1-1/2" x 1-1/2"
2 squares, 2" x 2" cut once diagonally

Fold the dark 2" square in half vertically and horizontally,
and lightly crease to mark the center of each side. Fold the 
light triangles in half, and lightly crease to mark the center 
of the long side. Stitch triangles to opposite sides of square,
matching the center creases. Stitch triangles to the remaining 
sides of the square to make the center unit. Trim the unit
to measure 2-1/2" square, including seam allowances.

Arrange the center unit, 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangles and
1-1/2" squares in three rows. Sew the pieces together in 
rows. Join the rows to make a New Album blocks,
measuring 4-1/2" square, including seam allowances.

This Schoolhouse Pillow has been on display in the shop

for almost 15 years, since day one. It is time for it to come 

home along with Temecula Quilt Co. I have made the 

decision to close the brick and mortar side of the shop. 

I will be open until November 20, 2021
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00 - 4:00
Saturday 10:00 - 2:00

I will continue to design fabric for Marcus Fabrics and

and will be keeping my online shop open for business. I
will also continue to write TQC Journal posts and hopefully
keep you inspired with new projects and fun sew alongs
