Spring is almost here. In California that does not mean
a huge difference from winter but in a lot of places this
is what you have been waiting for. Hopefully it will be
the start of warmer weather and a little more sunshine.
I am working on a project I am calling,
The Great 2022 Spring Scrap Challenge
When I closed my Brick and Mortar shop I was left
with some great bolts of fabric. This spring I am
challenging myself to create a project that will use
these wonderful prints in new and original way.
I will be offering a limited number of kits and will
have the pattern available for those who would like
to make one using there own scraps. Stay tuned.
This weeks 1880 Checker-Bar Block features a neutral
selection of prints. I think this is the best part of recreating
a vintage quilt. The color combinations used by the quilters
of the past are always a surprise. Find the original quilt here
and see if you can find the inspiration block.
* * Correction * *
If you purchased a Woven | Viridians and Ambers pattern or
kit please take a moment to make a small correction. Turn
to the third block and make a notation on the first strip set.
You will need to cut 24 strips, 1-1/2" x 6" not 2" x 6".
I hope this error did not cause to much inconvenience.
