Little Letter + Cooper

The arrival of my third grand child called for another
quilt featuring our free Little Letters pattern.

Little Letters - Finishing


Now I know my ABC's next time won't you sing along with me. 
- - - - - - - - - - - - - 
To finish up your quilt you will need the following:
Cut 71 - 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" sashing strips from background fabric
Cut 42 - 1-1/2" squares in a variety of colors
Cut 3 - 4-1/2" x width of fabric strips for borders.
Construct blocks below and layout quilt top using photo above.
You will need 4 extra blocks
For each block cut 2 - 3" squares dark and 2 - 3" squares light
Make half square triangles using tutorial
Square half square triangles to 2-1/2"
Use layouts below to construct blocks.

Cut the following for Little Letter X
from dark
A - 1-1/2" x 8" strip
B - two 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" strips
from light
A - one 4-1/2" square cut twice diagonally
Cut the following for Little Letter Y
from dark
A - one 1-1/2" x 3" strip
B - two 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" strips
from light
A - two 1" x 4-1/2" strip
B - two 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" strips
C - 1-1/2" x 2"
D - two 1-1/2" square
Cut the following for Little Letter z
from dark
A - one 1-1/2" x 6-1/2" strip
B - two 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" strips
from light
A - one 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" rectangle cut one diagonally.
 Cut angle as pictured
Piece Little Letter X using layout
Piece Little Letter Y using layout and snowball tutorial
Piece Little Letter Z using layout

B - two 2" squares
from light
A - one 2-1/2" square
